Stolen tools 1.cropped

POLICE are appealing for people to come forward after a number of power tools, suspected to have been stolen in recent allotment break-ins, were discovered in a garden shed in Rishton.

The tools, including power drills, a saw and garden strimmers were found inside the shed by the owner who contacted police to say that he had found the tools that did not belong to him.

Officers investigating have released some pictures of some of the recovered items and are asking people to come forward and contact them if they believe they are the rightful owners.

Sgt Stuart Banks, of Accrington Police said; “There have been a number of break ins at allotments around the Rishton area and we believe that there is a possibility that some of these items may have come from those incidents.

“If anyone thinks that they recognise any of the items then I would ask them to contact Accrington police station by calling 01254 353749.”

Alternatively, people can use the new non-emergency number 101, or, information can be passed via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
